The Closing of the Bones Ceremony

A Mexican postpartum ceremony to allow you to process your perinatal journey;

from trauma & grief to transformation & healing

Clare

“I found I was able to release emotions I had been holding onto around the birth of my premature son almost 15 years ago. I’ve longed for years to share, to revisit and tell my story. I knew the right time would come and I’m so thankful it was with you Hayley.."

Do you feel valued & cared for the way you could be? Has your birth been unexpectedly traumatic leaving you feeling sad & lost in your postpartum? Do you feel like you've lost parts of yourself in Motherhood? I belief Motherhood is a vital pillar of society yet it is constantly undervalued leaving you in the shadows

No matter what your experience The Closing of the Bones offers an opportunity to dive deep into what your body is holding. I recognises the profound depth it takes for you to grow & nurture your baby from womb side to earth side & the importance for you to receive care & guidance to be able to process this from your present to support your future.

The traditional Mexican ceremony is an in depth processing of your perinatal journey. I hold the space around the ceremony by giving you time to share & reflect your experiences & how they are effecting you. The ceremony lasts around five hours where I'll guide you through a;

  • full body massage

  • hot herbal bath in a make shift sweat lodge

  • sweating

  • & wrapping with the rebozos.

(your baby is welcome into the space for you to attend to their needs). I bring snacks & refreshments to nourish you throughout the day.

I recognise how important it is for your body to work through the experiences you have lived through. Movement through the ceremony allows you to process on a different level from talking & the ceremony gives you the perfect opportunity to honour your perinatal period.

The ceremony is for any Mother including Mothers of babies no longer with us. You may be two weeks postpartum to 30+ years, the ceremony is still for you!

You may be reaching an ending in a chapter of your life that you would like to celebrate; the ceremony can honour all your achievements & set you off rooted onto your next venture. There may be a lot of grief that others are struggling to hold for you & you feel alone with, I will sit in the pain with you & hold the space you are seeking.

Postnatal care is not a luxury it is essential care that Mothers are robbed off & perinatal mental health rates show that. Honouring yourself as a Mother supports your postpartum which is for forever.
